We really made use of the balcony because it was right by the terrace. The welcome was lovely, and the room was comfortable, though on the small side. We’d booked a ground-floor room with a balcony and were happy with it.

The lagoon and El Rocio church view was lovely, but the room itself was small, with plastic flowers all around the bed and a cramped bathroom that kept locking, so we had to use the key each time we needed the toilet. Breakfast was well below average. We paid nearly twice as much for the superior room, and I don’t think it was worth the extra cost. I’d stick with a cheaper room.

The breakfast room tables weren’t available for sitting, which made no sense with rooms this small. We couldn’t find anywhere to eat on New Year’s Eve because all the restaurants were closed, and still weren’t allowed to use a table. Also, the beds were only 140 cm, too narrow for two adults. The location was really nice, though.

The rooms are simple, but you don’t need much more up there. We had a lovely view from the terrace, and both the service and breakfast were great. It’s a warm, welcoming hotel. We’ll be back, thank you!

The bacalao dorado was delicious. We stopped for lunch during Romeria el Rocío, when the city was packed with pilgrims. The caldo de la casa was just okay, neither great nor bad.
