La Tartana Hotel Boutique

We loved the breakfast, our room, and the location, and Antonio was gracious throughout. He also suggested places to see nearby. One beach we visited was beautiful, though the drive down through the mountains was very steep and narrow, with two-way traffic. We nearly turned back because of it. Finding the hotel took some figuring out. After taking the scenic route from the airport, which took us three hours instead of the hour and twenty minute route, we drove straight past the entrance. We called Antonio, and he explained that the door was right off the road up in the mountains. Our only hotel issue was the low doorway into our room. We're average height, even by American standards, but my spouse hit his head on it a couple of times.

The hotel has a charming, typically Andalusian design, and we'd happily recommend it to friends and family. Antonio and his wife were so friendly and helpful during our stay. Our room was spacious, with comfortable bedding and linens, and it was cleaned thoroughly every day. The housekeeper greeted us with a smile each time. We also enjoyed sitting on the little balcony with a cup of tea as the sun went down.

The owners made us feel like family, and nothing seemed too much trouble. Antonio and his wife were generous with their time, even driving us into town and showing us where to eat. We stayed last night and had a lovely time. This place is a gem.

Not sure why this hotel only has one star. It easily deserves two or three. The rooms are a bit small, but their square layout and construction give them a cool feel that's different from a typical hotel room. They're clean, and you get plenty of amenities, including soap, shampoo, hair dryers, and fresh towels. The AC is great and powerful, and there's a TV. The people are super nice too. I'd definitely stay again.
