Hotel L'Algadir del Delta

The Ebro Delta is full of birdlife, and you can spot some hard-to-find species very close to the hotel. I hope I get to return. We loved our spacious, beautiful, elegant Superior suite. Even though we arrived close to 10 pm without a reservation and were the last people in and out of the dining room as it was closing, we were treated graciously. The lovely hostess, who is also a part owner and works locally as a psychologist, couldn’t have been more helpful.

I’ve stayed here twice, and my impression hasn’t changed. It’s a good base for birdwatching spots nearby, and last time I even had a long-eared owl outside. The evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Paella needs to be ordered earlier in the day, since Spanish diners don’t usually have it for dinner, though foreign visitors might. My room was meant to overlook the town, but the view was basically a vacant lot. The rooms are spacious and modern, with en-suite bathrooms, and there’s a small pool. The hotel is in Poblenou, the old Francoist resort on the Ebro Delta. It’s worth contacting them directly because the rate may be discounted compared with a booking site.

The staff were all friendly and ready to help, and breakfast was great. There’s also a fantastic restaurant here. A really outstanding hotel and a highly recommended stay.

We had a superior room, which was modern, spacious and very comfortable. The place is quiet, with a pool area, gym and bike hire. Breakfast was good quality, the breakfast staff were lovely, and the wifi was strong. It’s well run, and there’s a highly rated restaurant too, though we didn’t try it. There’s no supermarket in town, but you can rent a bike for 3e an hour or 12e for the day and ride to a neighboring town for supplies. Highly recommend it all round.
