Elba Lucía Sport & Suite Hotel

Honestly, this was one of the worst hotels I've stayed in. People in the reviews say to pay more if you want better, but I've paid less before and had cleaner, warmer hotels with decent food. The rooms look fresh and up to date on the website, but in reality they're dated, full of bugs and absolutely freezing. The website says there's AC in the room, but there was none, so there was no heating either. You can rent a heater from the shop by reception, but it's tiny and has to run all day just to make things a little warmer. We tried the buffet once and didn't go back. There wasn't much choice and what was there looked shocking. I've cooked my whole life and my son is a head chef, so we know the food could be better. It all looked like it would give you food poisoning. I had one drink at the pool bar when we arrived. It tasted really strange, so we didn't have another the whole trip. There was absolutely nothing to do at the hotel. You have to travel to get anywhere decent, and we came to enjoy ourselves there but couldn't. Other guests were rude and didn't care about making noise late at night. On our last night, one man stood outside our room door watching something on his phone at full volume for about an hour. We couldn't leave coffee or food in the room because within seconds hundreds of tiny ants would cover it. The hotel was such a letdown that it spoiled the whole break, and we booked an earlier flight home. I wouldn't recommend staying here. Find a better budget hotel and get your money's worth. We spent nearly a grand and a half, and with these conditions we might as well have gone camping!

The staff were great and the pool was lovely and clean. Our apartment was spotless, with everything we needed for a week, including a fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle and hob. Towels were changed daily, and our balcony faced away from the pool, so we got the sunshine from 4pm and could relax there. We stayed from 27th-6th March. The airport was only about 5-10 minutes away. It was windy most days, as people say, but when the sun came out it was warm, with a max temperature of 23 degrees. The sandy beach is down the road and walkable, though we took taxis each day for 2-3 euros. There are bars, restaurants and lots to do nearby. About a five-minute walk away, there are shops and several kinds of restaurants. We tried Mina Sun and Bombay restaurant on the same strip, and all the places we ate were great. Alcohol was very cheap. It was our first time in Fuertventura, and we would definitely return. A lovely winter break for February, and I’d highly recommend Elba lucia and the surrounding area.

Our apartment had a huge balcony with views of the ocean, mountains and airport. It was clean and tidy, and the beds were comfortable. The service was excellent, though the food wasn't especially impressive and the selection was very limited. It's a nice, family-friendly hotel, about five minutes on foot from the bus stop and 15 minutes from the promenade. Family-run cafés and bars are close by. The nearest sandy beach is about an hour and a half walk along the promenade, and Lidl and Mercadona are roughly half an hour away on foot.

The food was beautiful, with themed dinners and anything you could imagine available. The beds were huge for single beds, and comfortable too. Staff were friendly, fun and so helpful. I especially loved the pool entertainment with Iker and the two girls. We had a great holiday. I’ll be back and will definitely recommend the hotel to friends and family.
