We left after just 10 minutes. We had to find a hotel for that night and the rest of the week. The apartment was in awful condition: an unflushed toilet, feces and urine in the bathroom, mold in the bathroom, living room, kitchen and bedrooms, plus a strong smell of smoke throughout. Getting in was a frustrating process. Although we had booked through a regular booking site, they required us to sign up on another platform, sign an extra electronic contract, pay a €380 damage deposit, and install an app to open the remotely controlled door. They wouldn’t let us in without meeting those conditions. Communication with the host was very poor. They were often unresponsive, sometimes answered and then hung up, sometimes insisted I chat in Spanish, and at other times said they couldn’t hear me or that their manager had just gone on holiday and nothing could be done. They also claimed we had stayed two nights and kept insisting until they could no longer prove it. I’m looking for other people affected by this host on social media under my full name. I’m putting together a group, seeking legal advice and planning to go public.

I booked this apartment before the Russian -Ukrainian war, planning to travel after it began. As a Ukrainian, I had to cancel and politely asked the hotel for a refund. I explained the reason, but they refused. I knew the booking was nonrefundable, yet I hoped they might show some mercy in such difficult circumstances, which I wouldn’t wish on either of them. Make your own judgment about them. To me, refusing was greedy and heartless, and I doubt people like that can provide good service. Avoid this place.

We booked a double room apartment and had all the kitchen facilities we needed. The property was well maintained, and our stay was pleasant. I’d recommend it for a family vacation.

At Comte Borrell, 45, Eixample, 08015 Barcelona, Spain, the furniture was broken and the blankets smelled bad. There was no soundproofing from the street, so I could hear people talking and smell cigarette smoke. It felt like sleeping outdoors. A terrible experience.
