Getting around was easy, with the blue and yellow tube lines close by and Sagraid Famillia just a few minutes’ walk away. Communication was efficient and easy, and our very late check-in wasn’t a problem. We could also leave our bags in secure lockers after checkout. The apartment exceeded what we expected. There were five of us, two adults and three 16-year-old boys, and our place had four bedrooms. It was spacious and well equipped. Amazing.

We had a lovely stay at Apartamentos Atica. The apartment was clean and quiet, with great cafes and restaurants nearby. Saint Pau, the stunning Art Nouveau site, is only two minutes away, and Sagrada Familia is about a 15-minute walk. I’d recommend it.

The €200 “retainer” was required even though we’d paid upfront, and we weren’t sure we’d ever get the money back. The apartment manual also threatened a €20 charge if we didn’t take down one garbage bag before leaving, and €50 if they believed we hadn’t left the flat clean enough. It all felt disrespectful. Then we found hair on the bottom sheet of one of the twin beds in the tiny second bedroom. Clean enough? What hypocrisy. It was about 7-8 C outside during our stay. The single wall heater wasn’t enough, so we had to phone and ask for another. Cold air came through the poorly insulated window in that small bedroom. There also wasn’t enough hot water for me to shower after my husband’s very brief shower. A real disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The neighborhood has lots of bakeries and restaurants, and the apartment is really close to the Sagrada. It was clean and nice.
