Barcelona City Seven

When I raised the problems, staff answered rudely and offered only a free breakfast, which wasn't an acceptable fix. The treatment felt disrespectful, and management seemed overwhelmed. The room was also far too small: the bathroom was cramped and barely usable for adults, surfaces looked neglected, and the whole place felt unwelcoming. The room we booked didn't resemble the website photos, which seemed heavily edited and gave a false impression. There was an overwhelming smell of cleaning products and damp that made it difficult to breathe normally. The air conditioning was stuck on heating, worsening the air quality, and opening the window only let in an unpleasant odor. Overall, it was disappointing, poorly kept, and not as described. I wouldn't recommend it.

We had three complimentary muffins in our room, which was very clean, and the beds were nicely made. The ensuite had a hairdryer, shampoo, and shower gel, and there was a TV and fridge. The fridge came in handy for our breakfast, though breakfast was also available to buy. As a single parent on a budget, I stayed three nights with my two teenage sons, looking for somewhere affordable and fairly central. It was a little tricky to find, but well located for walking to many main attractions. My two grumbles were that the shower temperature kept changing and that our room had no windows facing outdoors. Even so, it was good value, and I'd recommend it to someone on a budget.

We arrived in Barcelona late and had to go to a different hotel, quite far from the one we booked, just to collect the key. The room was meant to have its own bathroom, but it was outside the room and shared with the room next door. Luckily, nobody else was staying there. They offer free tea and coffee, though there’s no kettle.

The room was clean and perfectly fine. Shops are close by, and we could walk to the main street and the beach. Public transport is available almost right by the entrance. A good place for a 3-4 night stay in Barcelona.
