Barcelona Fifteen

We were about a four-minute walk from the train station and around 20 minutes on foot from La Rambla. The neighborhood view was pleasant, and we liked being able to get some fresh air. Our room had a kitchenette and a small fridge. Check-in was easy, and the front desk clerk kindly let us leave our bags for a couple of hours after checkout. The place was clean and nice to stay in, though figuring out the shower took some effort.

Anna coordinated with us after we booked nearly a month ahead, and everything was hassle-free. They even surprised us with a Vine bottle on Christmas Eve. The rooms were cleaned regularly, and there was a washing machine downstairs if we needed it. The Wi-Fi did drop out several times a day, but we still had a pleasant stay.

The air conditioning was such a treat, and the location was great.

The location is a real plus, close to the center and the metro, with fairly quiet surroundings and a modern building. The place could be a four- or five-star stay, but during my three nights I had to chase up too many basic things. The check-in email arrived late, a chair in the room was broken, the water heater was dirty and needed replacing, and the microwave didn't show up until my last day. It felt like nobody was overseeing what needed doing. As a customer, I shouldn't have to ask for all of this. The manager seemed to be somewhere else entirely.
