Barcelona Nice & Cozy B&B

The owner is incredibly welcoming, and the place has a great vibe. The facilities are all stellar, well beyond what you'd expect from a stereotypical hostel, and it really is extremely cozy, just as the name suggests. Keep in mind that some of the low ratings seem to come from French guests who only speak French and got frustrated because the owner and staff speak English, Spanish, and Catalan pretty fluently, while in Spain.

Most of our stay was really nice: the place was clean and close to the metro. We paid for three nights, so it wasn't as if we were taking advantage of anything. Still, I probably won't return after how we were treated on the last day, especially over a bit of spilled water. Accidents happen. Our flight was in the evening, and the owner said we could leave our luggage at the guest house and come back around 3 or 3:30. We returned early, at about 2:30, with half our party still out. We asked if we could wait in the living room and were told it was fine, that we could stay as long as needed. The owner even joked that men always lose track of time. When the others got back around 3:30, we called an Uber, which was about 15 minutes away. While we waited, my friend accidentally spilled a little water, mostly on her clothes and a bit on the couch. She started cleaning it right away, but the owner came in and berated us, saying we'd overstayed our welcome and telling us to wait outside for the cab. So much for staying as long as we needed.

The owners were kind, and we had a good five-night stay for a low price. Breakfast on the terrace was especially nice. It's near a metro station, so getting into the center was no problem. A good experience.

The host is amazing, and so is the hostel. The host's mom is so nice, and her son is amazing too. You'll have the time of your life!
