Som Nit Born

We had a really enjoyable two-night stay. Som Nit Born is in a great neighbourhood, near plenty of restaurants, shops, and other useful places. Our room was quiet and clean, with a spacious bathroom. The two single beds pushed together were surprisingly comfortable. Everyone at reception we spoke with was kind and welcoming. We'd definitely recommend it to anyone staying in Barcelona.

The shared-building entrance felt awkward, with a buzzer to get in, and the little lobby upstairs was chaotic, full of laundry bags, other bags, and shoes. By then it already felt more like a hostel than the boutique hotel I'd expected from the cute online photos. The room only confirmed that feeling: it looked less fresh and charming than pictured, felt used, and didn't seem clean. I tried to relax with a shower, but found mold in the bathroom and body wash in a wall-mounted hand soap dispenser. I felt uneasy in the space and knew I wouldn't be comfortable there. We booked another hotel nearby and left within an hour. I'm glad we did. The place up the street had a completely different feel and experience, for not much more money.

We were able to leave our luggage after checkout, which was handy. The spot is ideal, near both the beach and La Rambla, with good metro and bus connections.

The staff were friendly and very helpful, and check-in and checkout went smoothly. The location is fantastic, and for a short weekend it may still be worth it. But the room was far too small, barely enough space for hand luggage, and the price felt much too high for such basic accommodation. The floors were quite dusty and there weren't many amenities.
