Hotel Casa Luz

The rooftop terrace breakfast was excellent, with gluten-free options that were safe for someone with celiac disease. The view of the nearby square was lovely, and transit was easy to reach. The customer service was above and beyond. Absolutely fabulous hotel.

The room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, and the hotel is so stylish and beautiful. The staff were kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. They even helped me arrange a birthday surprise for my boyfriend, which made the stay extra special. We loved it all and would happily come back.

Breakfast is worth choosing when you book. It’s served on the 6th floor with wonderful city views, and there’s also a water filling station in the 3rd floor hallway. The only thing missing from the room was a bar fridge. We found the rooms spacious and clean, with a particularly large bathroom and shower. The hotel has a boutique feel, and the stairs and elevator made it easy to get luggage up to the room. It’s also right beside a metro stop and within walking distance of many Barcelona attractions. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel.

The tapas I had at lunch were fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. It was a real treat. The rooftop restaurant is stylish and well known, with lovely views over the busy streets, and sometimes has DJs in the evening, so check their website for the days. I didn’t get to try the breakfast buffet, though it sounded amazing. Water fountains on floors 2 and 5 were handy for filling bottles before long walks through Barcelona’s streets and parks. My room faced the plaza and had a small balcony wide enough to sit on with the chair from the room and enjoy coffee in the morning sun. The room itself was nice, and the view was good. I was in a single room with a single bed. The shower was tight, and I kept bumping into the glass doors while soaping up, even though I’m an average-sized man, usually wearing medium or large shirts. The TV swivel arm also didn’t work well with the current screen size, leaving it at a steep angle from the bed, though it was fine to watch from the chair. Neither issue stopped me loving the space or its location. The hotel is perfectly placed, with the subway right out front and buses and cabs readily available for farther sights. Many great places are within walking distance. The rooms are nice, and the plaza views are good. My brief interactions with staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. I’m not sure why the extra registration and their own app are needed when they’ve joined Marriott Bonvoy and check-in and most other things work like at other MB hotels.
