Casa Abamita

The room was spacious and really clean, and the location worked out perfectly. It’s near enough to the center to be convenient, but far enough away to avoid the noise. The man at reception was kind and gave us useful information. I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star hotel, so it turned out to be a very nice surprise. A great pick!

We had trouble getting clear instructions about entering the room until the last minute. They send codes for the main doors and the key locker, and somehow there was an expectation that reception would be available, even though it isn’t always open. Communication was weak. The room and corridor, though, were very clean, and the price seemed OK for Barcelona. Sound insulation is really poor, as others have said. You can hear everything from bed.

The owners and managers were so friendly, and we had a really positive stay. They upgraded us to a room with a balcony on a quiet street. It was clean and bright, right in the center, with good restaurants and a large supermarket on the same block. The beds were big and comfortable. We’d happily stay again.

The location made everything easy, just minutes from Placa de Catalunya, the metro, buses, restaurants, and grocery shops. Staff at the front desk were lovely, helpful, and flexible. Our room and the rest of the place were spotless, including the new, modern bathroom and the clean, easy-to-use kitchenette. The building has older details and character, with high ceilings and a nice mix of modern decor. We had a street-facing window and balcony, and there was a little nighttime noise, but not much. The open-grate lift was handy with luggage. I’d come back in a heartbeat.
