Catalonia Atenas

The breakfast buffet was massive and delicious, with local specialties and continental food, plus several options for vegetarians and vegans. The staff were excellent and helpful with our needs. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Mine looked over a beautiful square and had a hot shower, basic toiletries, closet, table and chair, blackout curtains, and a safe. For what I paid, this was brilliant. There’s a rooftop swimming pool with city skyline and Sagrada Familia views, as well as a gym, paid spa service, and a restaurant and bar on the ground floor. The hotel is at a good distance from the center, just 2-3 metro stops away. Barcelona is known for pickpockets, and central, highly touristic areas are often called unsafe on websites, but this hotel is in a very safe, family-centric area with wide avenues and several parks. The metro station is literally across the street, and there’s a bus stop right at the door, so getting around is easy. Great breakfast, cozy rooms, brilliant location.

The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe, which was welcome after long days sightseeing. I stayed at Hotel Catalonia Atenas for three nights as a tourist and had a very pleasant time. Getting around the city was easy thanks to the nearby metro station. Everything went fine and the hotel met my expectations. I’d consider staying here again.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we found the beds clean and comfortable. The showers were perfect, in fact, we had two types of showers. Our room wasn’t too small. We didn’t try breakfast, though I heard it’s really good and worth it. El clot station is a two-minute walk away, making it easy to explore Barcelona. We stayed for 3 nights. The spa and gym looked very fancy, so do try those. The rooftop bar only opens in summer, so we couldn’t enjoy it, but there’s a rooftop terrace with a small pool where you can sit and take in the city views. I’d highly recommend this hotel for a Barcelona stay.

The rooftop was a real highlight. We spent time by the pool and bar watching the sun set, with lovely views across Barcelona and a relaxed feel after a day on our feet. Getting around was easy too, with cafés, shops and restaurants nearby, plenty of sights within walking distance, and public transport close at hand. Our room was quiet, clean and comfortable, and the whole place seemed well cared for. From arrival onward, the staff were welcoming and helpful, and check-in was smooth. Hotel Catalonia Atenas is modern and very comfortable. I’d happily return.
