Catalonia Born

The pool area got crowded, and in the late afternoon it was awkward to use because of where the sun falls in relation to the loungers. We appreciated that the hotel acknowledged our anniversary, though. The room was very clean and smelled clean too, and check-in was easy. It was ready early, and they held our bags after checkout without any trouble. The staff were really nice. The hotel sits at the edge of a pedestrian area, so taxi drivers had trouble dropping us off and picking us up. I suggest walking the two minutes into the pedestrian area, or going to Arc de Triomf for pickups and drop-offs. That location keeps street noise to a minimum, and the area is very walkable, with many restaurants and a park nearby. It felt safe.

We hadn’t planned to stay overnight. My wife and I were visiting Barcelona for the day from a place about two hours away, and neither of us had been here before. We were having so much fun that we didn’t want to head home, so we booked a night at Hotel Catalonia Born. It turned out to be a wonderful stay. The hotel is lovely, very comfortable and extremely clean, in a fantastic location. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and made the night easy for us. When we come back to Barcelona, hopefully soon, this is absolutely where I’ll book again. Thanks to everyone on the team, you’re doing an amazing job. See you soon!

Guilia from the breakfast restaurant was an attentive and incredibly helpful host for our whole group every day of our extended stay. We also appreciated how carefully the staff looked after us at all hours, day and night. The hotel is cute, clean and centrally placed in a quiet but lively part of Barcelona. We really enjoyed our room, and there are lots of attractions right outside. It’s two minutes from the Ard De Triomf, with great restaurants, museums and historic sites just a few blocks away or a quick train ride.

The location is decent, and the room was clean, which were about the only bright spots. Room 604 smelled strongly of sewage. There was also a lot of talking and laughter in the corridor as other guests came and went early and late, so it was hard to rest. The armchair shown in the photos wasn’t there either. We only had a small plastic stool, the kind used for showering.
