Catalonia Park Güell

José served us at breakfast and was incredibly sweet. Even though neither of us knew the other's language, it never felt like we were losing words in translation. He helped us kindly, and breakfast with him was a delight. The spread was amazing too. We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is in a pleasant neighborhood, very close to a metro station, and the rooms were well maintained. Service was top notch across the board. Thanks to team José and team Catalonia Park Guëll for a great experience.

We stayed two nights on the third floor. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and our room was small but nice and very clean. I could hear people talking late at night and early in the morning, so the soundproofing wasn't great. Still, we didn't have any of the construction noise issues others mentioned. The pool is small but nice, and the rooftop is well set up for sunbathing, with a lovely view towards the coast. For the price and location, it was just what you'd expect. Thanks for a lovely stay!

The location was fine and the rooms were clean, but I wouldn't stay here again for the price quoted. We paid over £800 for the week. I booked well ahead through booking.com, then the hotel cancelled just a few weeks before we were due to travel without warning, saying they were fully booked. After a lot of hassle calling directly, they reopened the booking and charged the first night to my card, but initially tried to offer us a room at a higher price. The hotel was advertised with air conditioning, but they wouldn't let us use it. The central system only blew hot air, so they came up and turned it off because the room was too hot. All they offered was a large fan. The rooms were tiny and basic, with a poor layout and unnecessary furniture we had to sidestep around. They don't even provide water for guests. The gym is good, but it also has no air conditioning, so working out was uncomfortable. No air con? Far better options are available.

We had one small hiccup, and the staff went out of their way to sort it out. The hotel and team were first rate. The rooftop terrace is a lovely place to spend a couple of hours, and we thought upgrading to a room with a private terrace, dip pool and views was well worth it. Public transport and the metro are easy to reach. The coffee shop by the metro station is also 5 stars. We're hoping to come back over Christmas. Top marks 👌
