The breakfast was tasty, with a nice selection, and self-service was available 24/7. Our room had a balcony, which was good, but the toilets are inside the room, so if you’re sharing with a partner, be ready to hear everything. We were within walking distance of La Rambla and near a subway station for getting around the city. The airport shuttle also dropped us next to the hotel, which was useful.

The location didn’t feel safe at night. There were often homeless people around the entrance and in nearby streets, and coming back late as a guest felt uncomfortable and insecure. When I brought up my concerns, the staff weren’t helpful and offered no real solution. I paid more than 900€ for a very small room, and it wasn’t remotely worth it. The room smelled bad, and the walls seemed paper-thin. I could hear people talking, showering, doors, and loud neighbors at all hours. Other guests didn’t respect quiet hours, so getting any sleep was almost impossible. This was one of my worst stays. The place was very overpriced, noisy, and uncomfortable, and not what I expected for that kind of money. I definitely wouldn’t stay here again.

I paid €140 per person, and the room was a really poor standard for that price. There was nowhere to put clothes except on the floor. The air in the hallway, and especially in the room, was awful. After a few hours of sleep I woke up with asthma symptoms and had trouble breathing because the ventilation seemed nonexistent. Luckily, I was able to cancel the other two nights and find another room at a different hostel. :(

For the price, I expected something much more like a hotel room. Later I saw that the same money, or just a few euros more, could get you a regular room with a desk, wardrobe, and a separate bathroom. I booked in a rush, but I wouldn't recommend this place at over €120. Maybe at €60-70 it would feel fair. The room was clean, and I felt safe with the cameras and monitoring. Still, the space was tiny and claustrophobic, with the toilet and shower right beside the bed behind a glass door. There was no shelf or place for clothes, so everything had to go on the floor. The bed wasn't comfortable either. The air conditioning blew straight at the bed. I kept turning it on and off during the night because it got too cold, but without it the room was hot and stuffy. I couldn't change the temperature, so I think the settings were fixed. They advertise breakfast, but it was just sugary cereal, bread from the fridge with some cheese and ham, and biscuits. It was very basic, not tasty or healthy, and not food I eat. One other hassle: the address in the booking was for the room building, but reception was on another street, about a two-minute walk away. You check in there, then walk to a separate building. It's not a big deal once you know, but following the booking.com address takes you to a door with no information about where to go. That should be explained in the confirmation email.

For about €50 per person, these hostel rooms are a very competitive option right in the top center. There's a kitchen with free coffee, tea, and water available all day, and breakfast is ready in the fridge each morning.
