Break N Bed

The curtain is too short, so everyone in the room can see you. Apart from that, the hostel was good, the shower was okay, and the bathroom was clean enough. The Indian guy people mention seemed nice and not racist to me. For €20 in a four-bed room, it was definitely good value.

The staff were really helpful, and breakfast included free coffee and cereal, which I liked. For the price, you get an okay place to sleep, nothing fancy. It makes sense if you just want Barcelona’s cheapest bed and won’t spend much time at the hostel. Comparing it with a four- or five-star hotel wouldn’t be fair; they’re completely different.

Bring a towel and a lock. Each bed has a little curtain and a power outlet, and everyone gets a drawer to lock their things in. There were plenty of bathrooms and showers, so I never had to wait. I’d never stayed in a hostel before, but I had a really good time and enjoyed meeting other travelers. The staff were friendly and helpful, too. I’d recommend staying here.

The bed was comfortable, though the sheet didn’t feel very fresh. The bathrooms and toilets were tidy and clean, and I had a good stay. The location was perfect, right by the station and plaza de Espana, with a receptionist there around the clock and good service. There was some confusion about the key deposit at checkout, since it seemed they didn’t have a standard amount. The receptionist sorted it out, though, and I got my €10 back.
