El Jardin

For the price, the rooms were quite nice and clean, and being right in the centre was a plus. The trouble was the noise at night. It was so loud you couldn't sleep.

The reception staff were lovely. We'd forgotten to put out the room-cleaning sign, but when we asked, the woman at reception brought us fresh towels without any fuss. The room was on the small side, though that was fine since we were out most of the time. When we came back after being out for a while, there was sometimes a strange smell in the room. The aircon also shut off after a few hours, so we had to turn it on again. Still, it was a decent room and a friendly hotel.

We had a clean, tidy room with a lovely balcony view over the square. The staff were friendly, and there are lots of shops, cafés, and restaurants nearby. The metro is only a three-minute walk away. Just be aware that reception is up on the first floor, so you'll need to carry your luggage up one flight of stairs. There are a few more steps after check-in before you get to the lift.

The balcony view was nice, the location was great, and the staff seemed friendly. The room looked clean, though we did find something left by a previous guest, so I can't say how thorough the cleaning was. There was a big TV, but no remote, which made it useless. The shower holder was broken too, so you have to hold the shower head the whole time. The hotel is listed on booking as having an elevator, and there is one, but first you have to carry your luggage up two flights of stairs. The second flight is right in front of reception, and the young man at the desk didn't offer to help. The elevator is tiny as well, so my wife and I had to make two trips even with our modest luggage. Wi-Fi was free, but in our level 8 room it only had one bar and was painfully slow.
