Ella Hostel Ramblas

The room was tiny and had no window, and the walls were so thin that I could hear almost everything from other rooms, including footsteps, doors opening, staff, and water flushing. The price was lower, but the quality was even worse than the price suggests and didn’t feel worth it. I definitely wouldn’t come back.

Think of this as a convenient, comfortable sleeping pod. The rooms are very small, though they’re well equipped, and some come with their own bathroom. The hostel is right at the start of la rambla, about a two-minute walk from catalunya subway station. They provide complimentary coffee and a fridge. The room codes and keys both worked well, and the staff were very friendly and took time to show me the facilities. I’d rate it 9/10, with the room size being the reason it isn’t higher.

The location was excellent and the room was okay for my two-night stay as one person. But the noise at night made it hard to sleep. This is a hostel, and the neighboring rooms aren’t soundproof, so you hear people coming in and out and opening doors. Earplugs helped a little, but I wouldn’t recommend coming back if you need a quiet night. The staff were nice. I’d suggest investing in soundproofing the rooms and walls to improve things for customers.

The location was the only good part. For your own good, choose a decent hotel room instead of this tiny place. Ours could hardly have been smaller, with just a bed and toilet, no little fridge or closet. We stayed three days, and on the second day there wasn’t even hot water for a shower. At over 100 euros a night, we should have been able to find a proper hotel room. The worst part was the noise: there was no soundproofing at all, and on our last night we could hear someone in the next room snoring all night. Unacceptable!
