Fantastic 2 Bed Near Plaza Catalunya

Abraham at reception was extremely rude and condescending. We arrived carrying a lot of bags, and he watched us struggle from the street before berating us about how many we had, even though this hotel wasn’t our final destination. He was an awful person to have representing the hotel when we first arrived. That evening, seeing a woman at reception was a relief, but she used the same condescending tone and made a few cheeky comments herself. I would not recommend this hotel.

The only good thing was the location, close to the metro and buses. The Asian receptionist was rude and spoke aggressively. When we asked about the bad smell in the room, she said there was nothing she could do and that it wasn’t her business. She also said she was the only one working at the time. The rooms were dusty and triggered my allergy all night, so I couldn’t sleep, and nobody wanted to do anything about it. After cleaning, they left the garbage behind, so we had to hand it back to them. Breakfast was okay, but there wasn’t much variety for Muslim people. Worst experience ever.

The room was clean and comfortable enough, and the location is fairly central. Those are the only two things this hotel has going for it. From check-in through check-out, the staff were cold, rude, and unhelpful. Even basic requests seemed to bother them. I got attitude and eye-rolls, and they raised their voices when I asked for help. I honestly wondered whether they even wanted guests. Hospitality and customer service were completely absent. We asked to change rooms because of an air conditioning problem. The manager was especially rude and told us, “You can cancel the room or live with it!!!” Don’t make the mistake of choosing this place. Never again, the rudest staff I’ve ever seen.

The hotel location and rooms were good, and the other employees treated us well. One receptionist was the problem. At 13:00 Spain time on 12/24/2024, he delayed the process and wouldn’t let us into the hotel waiting area. I felt he treated us with racism and targeted us. I hope the hotel deals with this individual case. He was a very bad employee, and I know he represents only himself.
