Fontanella by BCN URBAN ROOMS

This place was more hassle than it was worth, and I’d suggest staying somewhere else. The management was no help, and past reviews make it clear other guests have been unhappy too. Karma will get you back.

The location was great, in a local area, but it was noisy. There’s no breakfast, reception hours are limited, and parking costs a steep 50€ a day. It could have been fine in general, but the value for money depends on the rate: at 200 a night, I’d give it 4 stars; at 300€/day, 3; at 400€/day, just 2. For what I paid, it felt crazy expensive, so I’m rating the value at 2 stars.

Find somewhere else and save yourself the headache. This isn’t a hotel, even if they seem to want to operate like one. It’s five floors up, with either stairs or an elevator that made me prefer the stairs. I left after they refused to refund my booking, and booked another place instead. It was that bad. Don’t waste your time or money here.

The check-in was easy enough, with codes for everything, so there were no keys to lose. The balcony was nice, too. But this is really just a room with a bed, not a hotel, so I’d only stay for the location. Our room had four beds, yet the bathroom had no proper door, which meant very little privacy. There was also a bit of a smell when we arrived, though maybe it was just old.
