We could see Sagrada Familia lit up at night from our balcony, and it was lovely being so close to it. There were cafés, restaurants, parks, and streets to wander around nearby. The rooms were comfortable, and everyone was helpful with our booking and our delayed arrival. Thanks for looking after us.

The apartment was in awful shape: it smelled of wet wood, had serious water damage, broken kitchen drawers, and a filthy, stained, broken couch hidden under a sheet. Bare bulbs were left without covers, despite being told someone would install them. When I moved in, I reported the damage and was told it was “condensation.” The leak was never fixed. After a few weeks, water reached the apartment below and then my living room too. A technician left thick red dust and a mess, but didn't stop the leak, so I kept mopping up water with a towel after showers for the rest of my three-month stay. I spent seven workdays at home waiting for repair technicians. Once, the landlord let himself into my apartment without warning while I was in my underwear 🙃. The StayBarcelona team also acted as if they hadn't seen messages that were inconvenient for them, and treated me like I was unreasonable for not being available at short notice during specific weekday hours. I ended the contract two weeks early because of the conditions and the hassle of arranging visits around work. They started demanding a 110 euro cleaning fee right after I moved in, even though Housing Anywhere listed it as optional. They messaged me daily for weeks and threatened eviction if I didn't pay. They also tried to charge 28 euros in fees because their chip reader didn't work and I had to pay the damage deposit across multiple transactions. Eventually they stopped asking, because they know it's illegal. After I moved out, they missed the legal deadline to return my deposit. It's 30 days, not working days, please check the Barcelona LAU. They made up false reasons for holding it, and only returned it after I threatened to sue and report them to the city. I've never had a rental experience this bad. The apartment was terrible, and the team were either ignorant of the law or pretending to be. Worst of all, they lied. Other reviews describe people waiting months for deposits. Avoid this company unless you want wasted time and money and possibly a lawyer.

The apartment itself was gorgeous, with high ceilings, double wooden doors, and an old-fashioned feel. Walking down that marble-tiled hallway made me feel like we were in an Audrey Hepburn movie. We had a wonderful family stay at the FewDays Apartment on Av. Diagonal. The second bedroom was a bit cramped, though the kids didn't mind much. We were very happy with it and will be back soon.

The toilet kept leaking around the base and left a horrible fecal smell. The owner had someone caulk the drain, but they didn't test it and the leak continued. The bathroom had no more than two towels per person for our seven-day stay, and there was no towel exchange or cleaning, despite the 75EUR cleaning fee. The bigger bedroom's AC leaked, so we left it off. The apartment was noisy throughout. The old windows let street sounds in as if they were open, and sleeping felt like being outside on a bench. Pillows were child-sized and worn, the bedding wasn't made properly, one bed was uncomfortable, and the queen-size bed had flooring damage. The host left no kitchen basics like paper towels, a sponge, or garbage bags, no complimentary water, and not enough bathroom supplies, including toilet paper. We stayed in “Sunny Maragall” at Carrer de Teodor Llorente 1 for seven days, managed by Stay Apartments Barcelona. The managers didn't respond to phone numbers or email when we had an emergency on departure day. I called and texted all the numbers two or three times. Apparently they open after 12PM... The host's reply below isn't true. The apartment may have been renovated, but the windows aren't double-glazed and don't block even 10% of the street noise, which was my main complaint. We contacted them twice, once about the internet and once about the leaking toilet. They fixed the internet, not the toilet. This isn't how to run a tourism business or treat unhappy guests. Shame on you.

We refused to stay and left. The apartment was appalling, with dirty walls, ceiling water damage, black mold in the kitchen, foam mattresses, run-down furniture, and fixtures hanging off the walls. The building itself was in terrible condition, basically a tenement. Our original vacation rental fell through at the last minute, so we were put in this place through Stay Barcelona. We later found that it belonged to another company, Apartment Barcelona, and was listed at $60 to $100 a night, while Stay Barcelona charged us $350 a night. The charges went directly to Ramon Mundo Raberg, who I believe owns Stay Barcelona. Don't book an apartment through this company.
