The staff were helpful and managed to get me last-minute tickets for the basilica, which I really appreciated. I found this cute, comfortable hotel well suited to a short visit. Its best feature is the location, just a brief walk from Sagrada Família, making it a handy base for seeing one of Barcelona's iconic sights.

The location is fantastic, with markets in the park only a couple of minutes away, and Sagrada Familia an easy short walk. There are loads of restaurants, minimarts for budget-conscious visitors, and the metro is near the cathedral. Still, after seeing the cathedral, a lot of other sights are farther away, so next time I might choose Las Ramblas, the Gothic Quarter or Gràcia. That's no criticism of this hotel. I had a clean, well-equipped room with a decent terrace. The shower stayed hot for a long time, a big plus after a run of bad showers. The staff were efficient, but in my three days there I didn't get a single smile. I can manage without one, though a smile does make the atmosphere nicer.

There are lots of cafes and restaurants nearby, and Sagrada Família is only about a three-minute walk away. The staff were friendly and welcoming too, which helped make it a solid stay. I chose the hotel mainly for the patio, but unfortunately didn't really get to use it. The bed was the main letdown: it felt uncomfortable, with a noticeable dip that made me feel like I was sinking in. Better sleep comfort would make a difference.

The breakfast was amazing, and the hotel is in a very convenient spot for metro and bus stops. It's on a quiet street, about five minutes from Sagrada Familia. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and cleaned daily with the towels changed each day. The staff were amazing too. We recommend it and would gladly come back.

We picked Hostemplo for a Valentine's weekend, and its location made getting around by metro in any direction easy. It's close to Sagrada Família, with plenty of restaurants and souvenir shops nearby, while sitting just far enough from the main tourist flow to avoid being surrounded by big crowds. Breakfast was simple, fresh and very good, with more than enough to start the day. The hotel was clean and well maintained, and the staff were warm and friendly. I'd recommend it for a romantic Barcelona stay. In fact, I'm thinking of coming back for another weekend :)
