I travel a lot, and this was the worst place I’ve ever stayed. I felt unsafe and alone. There was no reception or anyone to speak to, and I was assaulted while waiting in the street. My wife was assaulted too. The air conditioning only worked in one room, there was no Wi-Fi, and the water kept going from cold to too hot and back again. If you want to feel insecure and have nobody to ask for help, go there.

The one bright spot was being offered a free late checkout. Dia is very close, and the Raval neighborhood has its own character. The apartment itself was in unsatisfactory condition, though, with a winter draft coming through the cracks. I had to seal them with masking tape from the shop downstairs, which cost 4 euros. The kitchen was equipped, and they brought a heater and coffee maker when I asked.

There’s no reception, so once you arrive you have to call and wait for someone to come with the keys. The place is central, but it still felt neglected and unwelcoming. The area didn’t seem like one of the better ones either, and I’d call it dangerous, to say the least. Truly awful.
