Pia was the first to help me get my bearings in Barcelona and understand the area. Everyone on the team was incredibly nice, knowledgeable, and polite, and so much more. It’s one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Europe. I’ll come back when I get the chance to visit Barcelona again.

Javier at the front desk made my stay stand out. He was helpful whenever I needed anything and really went above and beyond to help me feel comfortable. From arrival, he was kind, professional, and welcoming, and made check-in easy while patiently answering all my questions. The hotel itself was great, but Javier’s warm, personal service alongside his efficiency was special. He’s a real asset to the team, and I’d gladly stay here again thanks in large part to him.

The location was excellent, and reception staff were friendly and welcoming. Those were the only positives in what was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had. I stayed a full week, with the possibility [sic]. The cleanliness was awful. The floor was so dirty that my socks turned black after just a few minutes walking barefoot. The curtains were torn and filthy, the sofa was stained and grubby, and I had to repeatedly ask for fresh bathrobes and towels. I eventually had to throw them on the floor to get replacements. Bathroom cleaning tools weren’t changed daily, and the replacement kettle was covered in dust. There was also a persistent bad smell from the bathroom. The bed and mattress were extremely hard, like sleeping on floor tiles, and badly affected my sleep. The air conditioning only worked on heating. When I complained, I was told it “cannot be switched to cooling,” so the room was uncomfortably hot. The view was poor, and the room badly needed maintenance and renovation. The high price, especially in out the season [sic], was completely unjustified for the quality of the services and facilities. I don’t recommend this hotel and don’t think it deserves its current star rating. I hope management takes serious action on hygiene, maintenance, and standards so others don’t have the same experience.

Breakfast wasn’t extensive, but the quality was good. Our standard room was fine for two, with nice furnishings. The hotel looks stylish and chic throughout, and I really liked how good it smelled. We knew beforehand that it was a little out of the way in Plaza Espanya. The metro is only about 200 meters away, and it’s four stops to the city center, either Ramblas or Catalunya. The main drawback was the heating: in winter there’s no air conditioning, just heat. Our room faced the street, so we had to keep the window closed, which was unpleasant.
