Palau de la Musica Apartments

The apartment’s finish was very basic and poorly done, and it looked nothing like the photos online. The shades were poor quality, and there were no curtains. The bedroom door knob was broken and pulled out when I arrived. The bathtub was old and rusty, the mattresses were about as cheap as they come, and the basic bed supports kept moving. In the building, the entrance felt old and creepy, with a door that made a creepy noise and holes in the entry ceiling. The old elevator also made very strange sounds. I told the proprietors I wasn’t happy and wanted to leave a couple of days early, with a refund for just those days, but they refused.

We came for a week with babies, and the children couldn’t sleep because of the noise. There was construction in the street directly below our window, along with a neighbor doing renovations, both going on all day. The owners hadn’t bothered to tell us about any of it. The noise from 8:00-18:30 was unbearable, so we decided to leave. They refused to refund us. We slept there for one night and were charged for the whole week! I don’t recommend staying in their apartment. Be warned.

The place was spotless, and the apartment staff were really helpful and accommodating. It’s very central. The apartment could use a freshen-up, but for the price it was great.

I’m reviewing the service and admin staff. They were unprofessional and seemed to care only about making money. They stick to policies that benefit them, not other people. Maybe they think being in Barcelona, where demand is high, means they can do whatever they want.
