The house caused stress, inconvenience, and direct financial loss, and it wasn't worth the roughly €300 per person we paid, not including the security deposit. It was a terrible six-day rental in Barcelona, with little respect for guests' privacy or transparency. The cleanliness was disastrous on arrival. Dust fell from the fans as soon as we switched them on, the floors were dirty, the vacuum was dusty, and most seriously, there was a used towel on the floor behind the toilet. That doesn't justify the €160 cleaning fee. The kitchen was also inadequate for six people: there was no oven despite it being listed, only one of the three pans worked on induction, and none was big enough to cook for everyone. There was construction just a few meters from the terrace, with scaffolding and workers. Dust and debris blew up every day, making the terrace unusable, and we hadn't been told about this before booking. On arrival, we also found a shutter completely jammed, which made the room unusable. We had to wait for a technician and lost hours of our first day. We followed the rules and behaved civilly, but the agency kept our €300 security deposit, €50 each, over alleged noise that was never verified and based on neighbors' unsupported reports. They still refuse to refund it despite the lack of evidence. The agency also sent a technician while we were away and, with no real warning or authorization from us, texted that he would arrive "in 10 minutes." None of us knew him or had agreed to let him in.
