Radisson Blu 1882 Hotel, Barcelona Sagrada Familia

Breakfast was such a treat, with fresh bread, butter, and plenty of other tasty, high-quality choices. The facilities were better than I expected, and the room was spotless, comfortable, and clearly well cared for. The shower had great pressure, and the hair dryer deserves a mention too, it was one of the best I've used in a hotel. Everyone on staff was kind and welcoming. A special thanks to the reception team for being professional and looking after our luggage. It was my first visit to Barcelona, and their care made the stay especially memorable. I'd gladly recommend the hotel and hope to come back. ✨

The breakfast was a highlight for me. There was a good range of quality ingredients, tasty coffee and drinks, and omelets made fresh right in front of you. The rooftop bar is nice too, mostly self-service, with good sangrias and a direct view of the Sagrada Familia. The little pool area has loungers and is a pleasant place to relax, even though the view there isn't much. The hotel is only about a five-minute walk from the metro, so getting around is easy, though it's not very central for exploring the city center. There are lots of shops nearby and a pharmacy directly across the street, which is handy. It's just a few minutes on foot to the Sagrada Familia. The rooms are quite small, and the bathroom is open-plan. The shower and toilet are separated only by a sliding door, while the sink is basically in the main room, so that setup might not suit everyone, especially if you're not traveling with someone close.

The rooftop was spacious, clean, and well looked after, with lots of comfortable places to sit. It was also peaceful enough to have a conversation, unlike some other rooftop terraces I've visited. Drinks arrived quickly, the staff were friendly and attentive, and there was plenty of choice on the menu. It's not the closest or most direct view in the city, but it's still a lovely spot, and the photos really don't capture it. The waiters took time to tell us about the history of the hotel and area. I liked learning that 1882, in the hotel's name, was the year construction on Sagrada Família began. That small detail made the visit feel more meaningful. I'd definitely go back.

The food was the weak spot for us. Breakfast offered plenty of choice, but the products were disappointing: the coffee was poor, and the cold cuts and salmon seemed noticeably low quality. The bar menu was limited but acceptable, so I'd stay here without relying too much on the food. Otherwise, this was a comfortable, well-run hotel in a local neighborhood near Sagrada Familia. The landmark area gets busy with tourists, but a short walk takes you to a more local feel, with cafés and shops. Our room was thoughtfully laid out, comfortable, and had what we needed, including tea and coffee facilities and a good bed. We also had a nice view of Sagrada Familia, and the temperature control worked well. Staff were friendly and flexible, and arranging a late checkout was easy. We appreciated the chocolate, fruit, and water on arrival. The rooftop terrace overlooking Sagrada Familia was another highlight.
