Renaissance Barcelona Hotel

The staff made this stay especially memorable. Service was attentive, proactive, and welcoming, and Malina at breakfast was excellent. The buffet had lots of fresh local Mediterranean dishes as well as international favourites. The guest rooms were spacious and sleek, with contemporary decor, very comfortable bedding, quality bath products, and well-stocked coffee stations. The Renaissance Barcelona Hotel is a sophisticated place to stay in the heart of the city. Just steps from Passeig de Gràcia, it balances modern luxury with local charm. Gaudí's architectural landmarks, including Casa Batlló and La Pedrera, are within walking distance, along with upscale shops and some of the city's best dining. For such a central spot, the atmosphere inside stays tranquil and professional. Whether you're here for business or a getaway, it's a high-end, reliable base with a distinct sense of place for exploring Barcelona.

We spent a week at the hotel starting 4/17, and had a wonderful vacation in Barcelona, with trips to Montserrat and the Cordorniu vineyard too. If we could give more than five stars, we would. Our room and the rest of the hotel were exceptionally clean and well cared for, and seemed to have had a recent upgrade, especially the electronic connections in the rooms. The weather was great all week. On El Dia de Sant Jordi, April 23, we even spotted Pedro Almodovar signing books at a bookshop less than a block from the hotel. Every member of staff we dealt with was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and sincere, from the lobby greeters and check-in team to the concierge, bartender, housekeeping, and especially the early morning restaurant staff at breakfast. Names I remember are Marc, Mae Lin, Faisal, and Muhammad. The waitress from Greece at the rooftop restaurant also took time to chat with us about family and life outside the hotel. The central location made it easy to walk to places on different days. We were near Gaudi's Casa Batllo and Casa Mila, restaurants, shopping and people-watching on the Passeig de Gracia, the Mercat de la Boqueria, the Rambla de Catalunya, Palau de la Musica, Roman ruins, downtown, the Barri Gotic district, the waterfront, museums, the Arc de Triomf, and the 1888 exposition area. Transit was available too if needed. One last thing really cemented our attachment to the hotel. We'd accidentally left several stamped postcards in our room, after writing them to friends and family abroad. When we called to ask if housekeeping had found them, they were at the front desk, and the staff gladly offered to mail them for us. Don't miss this hotel!

The rooftop bar has a sensational view of La Sagrada Familia, and the world-class breakfast buffet was a treat. I also appreciated the birthday surprise, and the staff worked hard to make the stay exceptional. The hotel is fabulous and set away from the Ramblas, which is a construction zone.

Our server Atta felt like family, bringing us Americans hot coffee each time he made a fresh pot. Mouhammed, the doorman, was also generous and exceptionally skilled. The location and service were flawless, and breakfast was included with our reservation every day. We had a great view from the room, though it was a little musty. The shower had such strong water pressure that water could easily spill onto the floor, but it really wasn't a problem. We also loved the rooftop deck overlooking Sagrada Família, with its beautiful view and delicious food. We'll definitely be back.
