The rooms and shared facilities felt practically new and were all well maintained. Our room for eight didn't feel cramped, and each bed had the promised privacy curtain, with lockers in the room. There's also a lovely terrace and a charming old lift in the building. We found the hostel reasonably quiet at night, though there was some tolerable street noise on Saturday since our room was close to the ground floor. It's not a party hostel. There seemed to be a few low-key mingling events during the week, which might suit travelers who want a little company without a big social scene. We didn't attend, so can't say more about them. The location worked well for us, close to the big shopping area but not right in the thick of the old town. Reception was welcoming and helpful around the clock. The rooms, linens, and bathrooms were clean. Showers had hot water, though the cubicles were a bit small. The hooks need stoppers, and while the accessible toilet had more shower space, it had no hooks at all. The bathrooms smelled of bleach, but I didn't mind that too much given the cleanliness and hygiene, and I prefer it to strongly scented cleaners. There’s a small, usable kitchen that was kept clean, though I didn't really cook. I'd stay again and recommend it.

The staff made this stay for me. The morning, evening, and overnight teams, along with the cleaning crew, were all incredibly kind and welcoming. I loved relaxing with a nap on the terrace and cooking in the cozy shared kitchen and common areas. I'm definitely coming back next time I'm in Barcelona. I was here for a week and choosing this place was the best decision. The location sits between Gràcia and the Gothic Quarter, so it was easy to get both the tourist sights and the local feel. I stayed in both the six-bed women's and mixed dorms, and everything was super clean. The showers and toilets are separate from the rooms, so I could use them whenever I wanted without worrying about waking anyone or being disturbed. Really convenient!

The clean room, comfortable bedding, and quick, efficient check-in were the good parts. I paid €90 a night for a private room with two beds, but the stay was very disappointing. Construction began at 9:00 AM, even though check-out isn't until 11:00 AM. If you're in Barcelona to party and sleep afterward, that really doesn't work. Earplugs didn't help me get proper rest. The door was extremely thin, and the room was right in front of reception, making the noise even worse. The shower temperature was also awful, swinging between freezing cold and extremely hot without a stable setting. I usually enjoy hostels, but this one wasn't worth the price for what you get.

The location in Gràcia is one of the best you can get in Barcelona, close to everything and full of local character. The Central House Barcelona Gràcia exceeded my expectations, and I'd happily stay again. It was so clean that I felt comfortable walking around without flip flops. The showers and toilets were always clean and available, with no waiting. The common sitting area was spacious, comfortable, and well organized. A fully equipped kitchen with a coffee machine and fridge, plus laundry facilities, made the stay convenient. Bruno deserves a special mention. He was friendly, kind, and supportive, always looking for ways to help. His positive attitude made the stay even better. I'd highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Barcelona.

A cozy, comfortable hostel with a lovely feel and a respectful crowd. There weren't any noisy guests, hopefully it stays that way. I'd definitely come back.
