Check-in took an hour, and the service desk was really slow. If you want to do laundry, good luck, you'll have to wait in that line too. The rooms are way too hot, and the bathrooms have nothing but toilet paper. I wouldn't stay here again.

I paid a high price for a private room for four from May 12-18, but noise from girls on the same floor kept me from sleeping late into the night from May 14-17. I went to the front desk to complain and was disappointed by how unkind the female employee was. She made no effort to deal with the noise or change my room. Instead, she told me to move to an eight-person room, even though I'd booked a private room. I've emailed the hotel manager several times and still haven't had a reply. The noise made the stay so uncomfortable. TOC Barcelona manager, if you see this, please reply to my email.

The staff were the best part for me. They were warm and helpful throughout, and made it easy to connect with travelers from around the world. Their dedication gave the place a welcoming, social feel. The beds were probably the most comfortable I've had on my travels. Each one had a handy reading light and power outlet, and the personal sleeping niches felt surprisingly spacious. Clean, crisp bedding and effective air conditioning made the room almost a perfect retreat from the city's energy. But there wasn't any curtain, and that really disrupted my sleep. In a shared dorm, light from someone arriving late and a fellow traveler's snoring carried straight through. All the modern conveniences couldn't make up for the missing privacy and quiet.

The location is excellent, but the service and facilities were bad, and the management was very poor. They assigned the same bed to two different people, then suddenly came into a female dormitory at 11:30pm. With no apology, they told one of them to leave at midnight. Horrible. The shower room wasn't clean, the hot water was unstable, and the bed was poor too. This is the worst hostel I've ever stayed in.
