Hotel Transit

The front desk is open 24 hours, and the staff meant well, but they couldn't do anything about the foul bathroom smell. It smelled of sanitary sewage, which felt like an engineering issue rather than a cleaning problem. Construction noise early in the morning woke me up. The room's finishes looked fairly new, though dark. The beds were about the size of children's cots, a little over five feet by my rough phone measurement. The frame creaked and shifted, and the side tables were minuscule. The bathroom door was just a light frame behind a curtain. With the only window behind a curtain looking onto a stack, the room felt claustrophobic. It's close to the train station, but I've stayed in worse hotels and this one comes close.

The room was on the small side, but had everything I needed. The bed was comfortable with nice bedding, and the bathroom was modern and spacious. WiFi worked fine, check-in was easy, and the staff were pleasant. It's well located for the station and public transport. It isn't the cheapest place, but I booked with less than 24 hours' notice and the price wasn't too bad. I don't know what the earlier reviews mean about noise, as I heard nothing during my stay on the top floor.

I saw a German cockroach at night. Booking recently notified me that the hotel had been hacked and my data was lost, but I never heard anything about it from the hotel itself. The rooms look clean and new, but the building and rooms are paper-thin, as other reviews mention. You hear everyone as if they're in the same room.

The room had a comfortable bed with nice sheets and towels, and the shower was good. The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful, and it was good value for money. The layout was a bit strange but worked. The room had a bathroom that went all the way through to a shared outdoor balcony seating area, while the kettle, cups, and fridge were on the opposite side, with the beds fitted in the middle. The location is convenient for the train station, and the old town is only a 20-minute walk away.
