Barcelona Pere Tarrés Hostel

The hostel is clean throughout, with good staff and clear rules. There’s storage space under the beds. Breakfast is average, though the value for the price is good. It’s within walking distance of the metro, and from there you can get to the city centre in 15-20 minutes. Highly recommended.

I don’t usually review hostels after they’ve put a roof over my head, even if I did pay lol, but this one really needs a review. The free breakfast was the best part, and the terrace was fine. The location isn’t in the city center, but it works if you want to visit Spotify Camp Nou. The heat was so bad that I had to switch hostels. If you’re coming in summer, be ready for it to be really hot inside. They say there’s air conditioning, but either it’s broken or the hostel doesn’t have it at all. The staff treated me terribly. One person didn’t speak English, so we couldn’t communicate, though I’m tolerant of that. When I asked the staff member who did speak English for a solution, he told me to turn the AC on 🤡. I showed him pictures proving it was already on, and he said, “We’ll come and see, thanks,” then turned away to do something else before I’d even finished. The nights were completely dead, with no games, group meetups, events, or atmosphere. The bathroom also wasn’t very clean to me, though I think that may have been because of the people I overslept with in the room.

The location is great, and the reception staff were friendly and cooperative. I had a good experience overall. The room was clean, although it had a strange smell. Since the window opens fully, that wasn’t a big deal. Breakfast is included, but don’t expect much. A lot of the guests are groups with kids or teenagers. There’s a large lockable safety drawer for each person. I also used the luggage room for the day, which was very convenient, and they let me work in the common area in the evening before I left. The internet was good.

We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. We noticed only minor issues. The included breakfast was great, apart from the chocolate pops having a hint of salt. The room was clean, but the shower door lock couldn’t be used and the soap dispenser cover was coming loose. There wasn’t anything to sit on in the room apart from the bed, though I understand that having eight chairs wouldn’t be ideal when it’s fully occupied, and with just two, people would be fighting over them :D
