Hotel Restaurante Dama de Baza

We ate at the restaurant and were well chuffed with the meal. I had mixed battered fish, and my wife went for calamari. Neither of us managed to finish our portions. The service was good, and we weren't kept waiting. We'll go again.

We've stayed here many times and usually had a great experience, with fantastic rooms, staff and food. But on our drive back from England in our van on Wednesday 4th December, we booked a Junior Suite with Jacuzzi for some well-earned rest. Anyone could see straight into the room because there were no blinds or curtains. We told the receptionist, Cristina, but she wasn't helpful. When we asked to move, she wasn't happy. She said there were no rooms left, then found us one that wasn't a suite, and didn't offer any refund. The next morning there was no water, so we couldn't shower or flush the toilet. Such a shame after all our previous stays.

We come here regularly for the monthly quiz and for quarterly meetings of the Royal British Legion Altiplano Branch. The staff are always very helpful. The Menú del Día is good value, and after going downhill for a while, the food is now very good indeed, though it used to be excellent. Service in both the bar and restaurant could still improve.

After a long 9hrs drive from Barcelona, I had a good night's sleep, a cool shower and a warm breakfast in the morning, all for approx 36 euros. The rooms were clean, nice and cozy, and the service was excellent. I checked in very late, but that wasn't a problem. Mr Gonzalez, the young lad at reception, checked me in and explained everything very politely and respectfully. The breakfast was just what I needed. Thanks to all the staff. Recommended.
