Hotel Y Apartamentos San Marsial

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the hotel has a nice rustic wooden style. But there was no AC, and mosquitoes filled the room. On the hot mid-July night we stayed, we had to keep the window open, so there was no way around them. I was also very disappointed by the 15 euro per night charge for each pet. That's what it costs to have a dog sitter walk a dog three times a day, not just to let it stay in the room. There was also an off-leash male Border Collie wandering around the hotel at all times, belonging to an old man who seemed somehow connected to the property. That didn't make me feel safe. It's good that this is one of the few hotels that allow dogs, but they should rethink how they handle it.

Marisa and Hugo made us feel very welcome, with their recommendations, lovely breakfasts and little surprises, including an upgrade when a better room became available. Our old sweet dog Danko was welcome too. It was our first stay here, though we'd been to Benasque before. The place could use some maintenance and a long-overdue spruce-up, but we'll be back.

The rooms were clean and nice, but breakfast wasn't a great experience. The selection was limited and the bread was burned. We told the host about it, but no fresh bread came.

I wasn't expecting much when I booked, but thought it would be more decent. There was a musty smell as soon as I entered the hotel, and it got stronger in the room. The dishes were supposed to be left clean, but the plates were stuck together and the glasses still had fingerprints from previous guests. Sleep was poor because I could constantly hear the neighbors' plumbing and pipes. The temperature was just okay. I wouldn't recommend it.
