Hotel Brasil

We had a local breakfast included and really liked the hotel. The rooms were lovely and up to date. We stayed for four nights in October, and there was just one problem: the shower head came off. They were fantastic about fixing it for us. We'd stay again in a heartbeat!

Evening entertainment was clearly aimed at the hotel's many older Spanish guests, with fewer foreign tourists around. I personally liked that. My one suggestion is about the bartender: when giving change, putting the notes underneath the receipt where they can't be seen can leave guests thinking they've been short-changed. It would be better to place the notes with the coins on top of the receipt. The hotel is in a quiet spot, a short walk from the beach, and made for a pleasant stay. The rooms are small but comfortable enough and clean. The cleaners came regularly and were polite. Watch the shower lever, though, as the water can get close to scalding when turned far to the left. Reception staff were friendly from the start, and so were the dining staff. The food was generally very good, nicely presented, and there was plenty, though the choices sometimes didn't vary much from day to day. For the price and the staff service, I'd recommend staying here.

We spent a week here and, for a budget hotel, it was a great deal. Book seven nights or more through the hotel's own website and they provide a free airport transfer, which was very pleasant. The hotel is in the city centre, within walking distance of the bus stop and beach. The whole place, including our room, was extremely clean. The cleaners did a fantastic job, and Natalya, who cleaned our room on the sixth floor, was especially hardworking. She kindly helped when we needed more toiletries or wanted the bins emptied. Around 90% of the guests were Spanish pensioners, and there was entertainment every night. Half board worked well for us, though the food itself was very average. Much of it seemed to be tinned or already prepared, then just warmed up. One incident really disappointed us: chicken slices that were meant to be fried were served raw on the sides. RAW CHICKEN. I can't help thinking how many people could get sick. I showed it to the staff, and they took it straight to the kitchen, but we didn't eat meat there again. All in all, you get what you pay for, along with kind service.

The staff were helpful and really friendly. I had a lovely stay and will definitely come back.
