Bilbao ROOMS Miribilla

We were in room number 2. When we arrived, there was a burning smell; after looking around, we found insecticide that had recently been used. We put up with the smell for a while and said it was fine, then later discovered bedbugs. Room 2 was supposed to stay locked and off limits to guests for a while, until it was confirmed bedbug-free. But they treat guests as a source of money, so they don't give a damn about your health.

The service was good, and getting into the building and room with the code was very easy. The washing machine power wasn't working during the hours posted, though we reported it and they said they'd look into it, so hopefully that's sorted for future guests. The biggest problem was the window: there was no curtain, and it faced a courtyard lit all night, so the room couldn't be made dark. The two pillows came in one long pillowcase, which meant I couldn't fold them or use them another way to make up for how thin they were. It was a shame, because the place was convenient and fairly good value, but I couldn't sleep well without a curtain.

The owners just made excuses and, in their replies to reviews on booking.com and Google, seemed to lie to cover themselves. Really not cool. I wish I could sue them. In the morning we found BED BUGS in rooms 2 and 3. The night before, our room had smelled of smoke, and the owners denied everything. It was a nightmare. Avoid at all costs.

The area was just right, peaceful but still close to the lively city. My room at Miribilla Rooms was clean and new, and everything worked. The staff responded quickly and took care of my requests right away. I loved staying here and will keep coming back.
