Hostal el Ranxo

I’m immensely grateful for how well they looked after me when I became violently carsick on the way to Cadaqués. My sister asked if I could lie down somewhere, and although the hotel was fully booked, a woman in the attached picture offered me space in the sunroom or waiting area and brought me a blanket. They even called emergency services for us. Their hospitality meant a lot.

Rita was a wonderful host, always smiling and ready to help with whatever we needed. She went out of her way with suggestions and recommendations. Rita’s daughter and the cleaning staff were fantastic too. I can’t think of a better quality-to-price option, go for it. Thank you for a wonderful stay and some of the best service I’ve had.

The landlady is incredibly attentive, kind, and service minded. The place has a local feel too, with people passing by to chat or have a drink with her regularly. It isn’t the most luxurious, but it’s still great, especially for the price. If you’re visiting Cadaques, which I really recommend, this is a very good place to stay unless you’re after a four- or five-star hotel.

We felt cared for and at home during our four nights, and are grateful to our hosts. Our room faced the mountains behind the hotel, a lovely view at any time of day. It had double glazing, blackout shutters, a fan, radiator, and blankets, so it was set up for any season. Hostal el Ranxo is especially well placed for grocery stores and street parking, which is free out of season. Cadaqués has wonderful locations all over, but the patient, friendly team, clean rooms, resident cat, local people at the bar, and early coffees made this stay especially charming.
