Hotel Checkin Catalonia

The food was excellent and the atmosphere felt very family-oriented. The hotel is pleasant and close to the beach, but the nights were noisy. What really stood out was the crew, from receptionists and cleaners to waiters and bartenders. Special thanks to Angel, who courteously and with a smile took care of our requests and those of most of the other guests. I recommend it.

Since 2009, we've stayed at the Catalonia Calella every year except 2020. The staff used to be friendly and the local and international food was great. In 2024, the hotel changed owners and became the Checkin Catalonia. This year prices went up significantly, so we expected renovation and improvements. There were none. The director, main receptionist, chef, and other staff left. The food is now terrible, the cheapest I've ever seen. The menu had things like bones and pork skin with fat. My 9-year-old daughter used to love eating at the Catalonia Hotel, but now didn't even want to go to dinner. Catalonia Calella used to be a great hotel that we loved returning to. Thanks to Ana, Tulio, Mark, Sonia, Monika, Jorge, Monika, José, and the others. Checkin Catalonia is an expensive, bad hotel, and we won't return. This isn't a complaint about the hotel staff, who are great. It's about the corporate organization Check in, which ruined a nice hotel. Jiri

The food was the best part, with great choices and little pictures showing what each dish is made of. The hotel is right by the beach and close to the city. The rooms are nice and renovated, though the bathrooms could use some work. The cleaning ladies are always smiling and do a great job. Some of the dining hall staff could be more hospitable. The walls are really thin, so it gets quite noisy.

I stayed here for a week and felt really welcome thanks to Marc, a boy who works here. He made the hotel stay fun and chill from the moment I met him. Marc, I wish you the best. I'll miss you very much! :(
