B&B El Pekinaire

I spent two weeks there from late August into early September, looking for a quiet, clean spot to work remotely in a Mediterranean climate. I wanted to be close to the beach, a gym, and groceries, with reliable Wi-Fi, easy train trips to Barcelona on weekends, and ideally a direct bus from El Prat airport. I found what I was after. Andreas and Esther took great care of their guests, and the longer-stay value was good. The place was peaceful, and daily cleaning was a real plus. Most days I worked from the lobby without any issues. I didn’t find a coworking space in Calella, but didn’t need one: the hotel room had a decent desk and enough room for Teams calls. Calella is quieter than nearby Pineda de Mar, which suited me. I enjoyed evening walks along the seaside promenade and sometimes went over to Pineda for a livelier atmosphere. The train from Calella was cheap and convenient for visiting nearby coastal towns. Food seemed better and cheaper in Barcelona or other larger cities. Still, with a Mercadona and a fresh fruit and veggie kiosk a short walk away, I could pick up snacks and didn’t have to eat out every day.

Andres and his wife were so kind and ready to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with lots of variety. We spent nine lovely days in El Pekinaire, and from the moment we arrived, everything felt just right. I was especially pleased by how clean and comfortable the room was. Thanks for everything, I’d highly recommend this hotel for a stress-free stay.

The owners are really nice, and the rooms were cleaner than some five-star hotels I’ve stayed in. I don’t understand why this place only has two stars. Based on my stay and the other reviews, it’s perfect and deserves at least four, maybe even more. If I’m back in the Costa Brava area, I know where to find the best-priced hotel. Definitely recommend it.

I stayed for three nights and kept thinking about how much I got for such a reasonable price. The beds were comfortable, breakfast was good, and the rooms were nice and cleaned daily. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
