Caramelo Calvia Beach Hotel

We came away wanting a relaxing break, and the chilled-out hotel atmosphere and nearby bars suited that well. There are also two beaches to choose from. The sea view was stunning, and the pool was a good size, with comfortable loungers and a large beach bar serving delicious cocktails. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and went out of their way to make our anniversary special. The buffet covered a lot, from cereal, nuts, fruit, yogurt, and pastries to fried food. There was plenty of choice at dinner too, with lovely dishes from different cuisines. I’d recommend staying here for a restful getaway.

Getting around was easy, and there’s a bus stop about two minutes away. When we hired a car, overnight parking at the hotel cost €15, though free parking was available nearby. Motorbikes can park free. We stayed four nights in October 2025. The rooms were clean and seemed recently refurbished, without the dodgy showers or cracked tiles you sometimes find. Breakfast had plenty of food and drink to start the day, and the dinner menu was broad and not too expensive. The main drawback was noise: the hotel is near the strip, so music could be heard late at night. It wasn’t too loud in our room, but still noticeable, especially on our last night, a Friday, when the bars may have stayed open later. We also heard loud people in the next room that night. That’s probably to be expected given the location. You get what you pay for and a bit more. After seeing other four-star hotels nearby, I’d choose this one first.

The hotel and surrounding area were mostly very quiet, despite Magaluf’s reputation. The staff and Management have created a wonderful holiday base. We stayed six nights in this beautiful, modern hotel and found the atmosphere friendly and positive. Breakfast and the dining room were standouts, with an incredible selection. Later in the morning, the restaurant served a good-quality range of food and used an interesting pager system to let you know when your order was ready. The outdoor pool setup was excellent. Even when the hotel was busy, we often had the Infinity pool to ourselves, and it was handy to get drinks, coffee, and Frappes from the Poolside Bar. A special mention for Murin(?), who seemed to be everywhere, both at breakfast and serving at the bar. Always a Hola! and a smile, and great at his jobs. A couple of small things: the shower leaked onto the floor tiles by the WC, and the hill at the end was tough for me at my age, especially in the heat during the first few days. The constant House/Dance music coming from the outdoor speakers also seemed unnecessary. A few quiet hours each day might help. These were minor quibbles and didn’t spoil our positive stay.

Getting to the beach is a very short walk, and the strip didn’t bother us. The hill is another matter, you need some stamina and decent fitness for the climb. We’d definitely come back. The pool and public areas were very nice, breakfast was so good, and the staff were really friendly. Special mention to Piedad at reception, a super friendly, sweet lady. Our room was pretty good at keeping noise out.
