O Mar De Preciosa

I wanted somewhere quiet to rest after the Camino, and this was lovely, with a beautiful view. My room was comfortable, and the bathroom was especially well designed. The hosts were friendly and attentive, and the food was fresh and good.

The woman looking after breakfast was very friendly and spoke excellent English. The hostel is beautifully decorated, though arriving felt a bit impersonal since there’s no front desk or staff member on duty and everything has to be handled through an app. The coastline near the lighthouse is absolutely stunning.

Our room, Vilan, had a balcony and a beautiful view of the Atlantic coastal inlet of Camariñas, with the sound of the ocean. Each room is named for a local beach. It’s a stylish, comfortable guesthouse, thoughtfully put together and tucked away in a quiet spot. I loved it and highly recommend it to people who enjoy the outdoors. There are lots of trails for walking, running or biking.

The room was great, especially the excellent bed, and the whole place was very clean. You can walk to all the bars and restaurants, parking is no issue, and the quiet A/C is wonderful in a place that can get humid. I wasn’t sure about the shared kitchen since we eat out. Some guests wanted to cook at the same time as staff were preparing food for guests, which felt like a strange setup. All in all, good. I’m still not sure whether to call it a hostel or hotel.
