Zafiro Cala Mesquida Hotel

The beach is incredibly close, just a few steps from the pool to the sand, which made everything feel easy and relaxing. The pools were clean, spacious, and great for adults and children, and our room was comfortable, modern, and well kept. Service throughout the hotel was consistently friendly, attentive, and helpful. The children’s entertainment was a real highlight. The team put so much energy and creativity into the activities that our little ones were busy, happy, and excited from lunchtime through the evening. We upgraded to a sea-view room when we arrived, and the reception team handled it straight away, making the process easy. The view was stunning, just like the picture above, and the upgrade was worth it. The only small downside was that the evening mini disco was a bit loud for very young children. The atmosphere was fun, though, and we still really enjoyed the entertainment. We’d absolutely return. It’s a fantastic family choice for sun, fun, and great service by the sea.

The kids’ club team were fantastic, and our two little ones had the best time with them. Staff in the restaurant worked incredibly hard, always clearing dishes and greeting us with a smile. The bar staff were just as friendly. The food was fresh and nicely presented, but having so many people in the one buffet restaurant made it stressful to find your way around. The hotel is lovely and right on a stunning beach. Our room needed some TLC, though: door frames were coming apart and had nails sticking out. We hoped to keep the room for a late checkout since our pickup wasn’t until 5pm, but the hotel said it was full. I found that hard to believe at the start of the season, as not all the rooms seemed occupied. If you’re planning a visit, I’d avoid the end of March. The wind spoiled things a bit for us, and it only warmed up toward the end of the week, just as we had to fly home. I’d definitely stay at Zafiro hotels again.

One small moment we’ll remember was a mix-up with a drinks order at the bar. The female bartender handled it kindly and professionally, sorting it straight away and replacing the drinks without fuss or extra charge. It was a simple gesture, but her attitude and willingness to go the extra mile stayed with us. We made some really special family memories at Zafiro Cala Mesquida. The hotel was spotless and well cared for, and the pool areas were fantastic for children, with plenty to keep them entertained. It made our stay much more relaxed and enjoyable. We had a genuinely pleasant, comfortable time, and it’s a lovely place to unwind and feel looked after. Thanks to the whole team!

Cala mesquida is gorgeous, but we were disappointed by the hotel’s quality. The location is great, but the place felt rather trashy and well below what we expected from a four-star hotel. It badly needs renovation: doors, outdoor bathrooms, and sofas are old and dated. The sauna was out of order, and there were cockroaches. When we raised it, we were told broken facilities can happen and that we’re close to nature. What a reply. The buffet restaurant looked like a cheap canteen, with plastic tables and no tablecloths. Its outdoor terrace is small, with only a few shaded tables. The a la carte restaurant is next to the entertainment stage, where disco music blares during lunch, and its terrace is packed so tightly that you sit together like sardines. There weren’t enough staff. Only one person worked at the pool bars, so queues formed quickly, and the bars closed at 6pm. Our room wasn’t cleaned daily, only on some days, and beach towels could be changed only on selected days. The sea-view pool bar had no shade, so you had to sit in the sun. The hotel gates didn’t work with the microchip and could be opened by anyone, which felt like a security concern. There’s no parking, while the adjacent hotel does have parking. We were just told to find a street space. We complained and asked if we could leave and get back the remaining three nights, but they said no because we had a no-cancellation policy. They offered dinner at the a la carte restaurant for three nights, with one as a gratuity. We didn’t accept, since that would just mean spending more money and was really a benefit for them. They wouldn’t even give us one dinner as a gratuity. It’s a real pity how they run the hotel and handled our complaint. Hotel staff said they couldn’t decide and that Zafiro central service managed these cases, while central service said the hotel should decide. Classic. Stay away from the Zafiro hotel.
