I booked through Expedia and chose to pay at the hotel, so they had my card details. After reading the reviews more carefully, we canceled more than 24 hours ahead. I was told I’d lose one night’s payment, which seemed understandable, but I was charged for three nights instead. Expedia couldn’t reach management, and I ended up out nearly $300.00. Later I saw I’d been charged twice. We visited the village and saw the place, which we found very unappealing. When there was a problem and I needed to get in touch, nobody could be reached, and there was no partial refund.

The building has a lovely style and sits on a small road in a really cute village. Our room was spacious, very clean, and well looked after, with a comfortable bed and bathroom. Everything worked well.

It was closed when I was standing outside yesterday, and nobody answered the phone. Booking.com still showed rooms available. Maybe I was lucky to find out that way, but it was a total disappointment.
