The breakfast buffet was fantastic, with freshly made eggs any way you like, pancakes, waffles, fruit, juices, and plenty more. Dinner was generally good, although we weren’t always happy with our choices. We were offered a replacement dish, but decided to keep what we had so it wouldn’t go to waste. The service was great throughout, from arrival to departure, and whenever we needed something, someone helped us. We’d thought we’d booked breakfast and dinner, but reception said on arrival that breakfast and lunch were included. Maybe there was a booking mix-up through booking.com. The manager was very kind and upgraded lunch to dinner for our stay. The rooms are pretty and cozy. The weather wasn’t great for swimming, unfortunately, but that happens. We really enjoyed our stay and would come back.

The hotel has striking sea views, and the beach is about a 10-minute walk along a dedicated path. Service was warm and attentive from staff across departments, who greeted us and were quick to help. When we reported ongoing noise in our first suite, the team stayed in touch and eventually moved us to another suite in the same category after two nights and several requests. We received compensation of about 3% of the total stay. The staff’s English was very limited, though, and without my bilingual partner the stay would have been more stressful and less relaxing. Our modern “The One” suite was recently built, beautifully laid out in a boho-chic style, and full of tasteful details. Housekeeping was nearly flawless. The private terrace and sea-view pool were stunning, and the semi-private pool was spotless but quite cold. Noise was a serious problem: the shared jacuzzi motor above our ceiling hummed all day, and dull thuds kept waking us for nearly an hour at night. That’s hard to accept in a hotel that sells premium suites as a place for peace and relaxation. The rooftop bar had gorgeous panoramic sunset views, friendly, fairly quick service, and decent cocktails. Thanks to Sara in particular. The sushi was expensive but excellent. We chose half board, and the buffet had good variety and quality, especially the fresh grilled meat and fish. Dinner service was frustratingly slow on the first two nights, especially on the terrace. It got faster when we moved indoors, but it was disappointing to miss dining outside. The spa was pleasant, spotless, and nicely arranged, but the massages lacked consistency and technical refinement. Therapists didn’t always ask about pressure or oils, the rooms were uncomfortably hot, and being covered with a sheet and duvet made it hard to breathe and relax. The gym was clean and modern, but much too small and poorly equipped for a resort this size. I can only imagine how it gets in peak summer. We didn’t use the communal pool, though we could see it from our balcony. Despite the rules, guests still reserved sunbeds early and left them for hours, and the hotel seemed unable or unwilling to stop it. “ The One” status was a major selling point but felt incomplete and far from the premium experience promised. Check-in was long and impersonal, promised gifts were forgotten, there was no porter or valet, and the private lounge was uninviting, with no sea view, sun, or smoking area. There was also no priority access for dining, sunbeds, or getting problems resolved. We still enjoyed our stay and left relaxed. With better delivery of “The One” benefits, improved noise management in the suites, and firmer control of shared spaces, the hotel could improve from very good to truly exceptional.

The best views were from the Tavira rooftop at sunset, and Sara was amazing every time we went. We ate there twice, though a more extensive menu would make us want to go more often. Spanish music by the pool in the afternoon was a nice touch. Araceli from customer service was kind and courteous, too, but dinner wasn’t the best time for a conversation. We might come back to see whether things improve. The hotel is nice and the staff are friendly, but there’s room to improve for a 5 star place. Breakfast coffee and the coffee in the room could be better. We booked a partial sea view, but could only see the sea by sitting in a corner of the balcony. The hotel wasn’t full, so it would’ve been nice if they’d offered us a better room. The bathroom is small, and the fixed A/C settings can leave it warm at times. The ceiling fan is too noisy to sleep with on. The gym has a nice view and is good. For dinner, both available restaurants serve the same small set menu, even though it changes each day, so there aren’t really many choices.

We paid nearly €3,000 for less than a week, and this hotel is nowhere near 5-star standard, despite its prices and advertising. The DAIA beach restaurant was the only highlight. The parking costs an extra 25 euro a day, isn’t on site, and isn’t directly accessible. Cleaning was noisy but still inefficient. Our rooms were poorly maintained, with stained sheets, holey towels, old fixtures, and inadequate cleaning. They only provide water for the first night. After that, you have to walk a long way or buy overpriced bottles from the mini-fridge. There was no help with luggage at either arrival or departure, check-in took ages despite everything being prepaid, and reception was often unreachable, even at night. The “The One” upgrade cost 50 euro per day and was a waste. There were no real benefits, just a sad lounge with sandwiches. Even a simple request for a beach restaurant booking was mishandled. We were told it was full, yet often found empty tables. Breakfast was good, but the coffee was bad and there was no barista. Noisy live music disrupted breakfast and woke us up. Facilities were inconvenient too: no drinks service at the rooftop pool until 6pm, towel cards required, and no towels on the beach sunbeds unless you went all the way back to the hotel.

The food was fresh, healthy, full of flavor, and nicely presented, with plenty of variety. The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional, and the wellness services and gym were excellent. The hotel is right on a beautiful beach where you can walk for miles, swim in clear water, or relax in the sun to the sound of the waves. My wife and I had an incredible vacation here, with days of peace, beauty, and relaxation. Everything felt calm and well cared for from the moment we arrived. Our swim-up pool room was spacious, beautifully designed, and had every facility we could wish for. It felt like our own private paradise. We also had The One service, which I highly recommend. The dedicated lounge and extra attention really lifted the stay. Daia Slow Beach Hotel is a place that stays with you. We left refreshed, reconnected, and deeply grateful.
