Hospes Palacio del Bailío, a Member of Design Hotels

We’re already planning another visit to Cordoba ❤️❤️❤️. The food was delicious, and the restaurant staff and servers were super friendly. The historic building is a great hotel, and we were pampered from the start of our stay right through to the end. The room was cosy, with the best bed we’ve ever had, and the special pillow menu was amazing. It wasn’t cheap, but every euro was worth it. A very, very nice experience.

I stayed during the second week of December and genuinely enjoyed every moment. The hotel is clean, quiet, and full of character, with a historical charm that makes it feel like stepping back in time. Most major historical attractions are within walking distance, along with a great choice of restaurants and coffee shops. The location is perfect. The only downside is that it set the bar so high that it’ll be hard to stay anywhere else. I’ll definitely return when I get the chance.

We were impressed by the care we received at Hospes Palacio del Bailío. The staff were warm and attentive throughout our visit. On our last evening, a family emergency meant we had to leave extremely early the next morning. Reception and restaurant staff made sure we had what we needed to get away on time and checked in with us several times. Thank you for your genuine concern. The hotel is stunning, full of historic charm, and you can see actual ruins under a beautiful breakfast courtyard. But the rooms need updating. Some furniture and finishes felt tired, and a creative refresh would better match the property’s luxurious feel. We also weren’t told in advance about ongoing construction. The noise and disruption took away from the calm you’d expect at a five-star hotel. If we’d known, we might have changed our plans or at least been prepared. The hotel has incredible potential, but clearer communication and room updates would make the experience much better.

Breakfast isn’t included for Marriott elites, but the restaurant serves a top-class breakfast, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby if you’d rather eat elsewhere. We loved our stay and the service was top class. The restaurant sits above Roman ruins, which staff will show you if you ask. Your stay also includes an hour of access to the Roman baths. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the old town.
