Casa Rural La Loma

There’s a lot of space and land, but the neglected condition lets the house down. The garden was overgrown, and the wood-fired oven area had cracked, unusable clay dishes. Inside, the kitchen door came off in your hand when you tried to open it. The kitchenware and glassware were also in poor shape, with chipped plates, dented cups, a missing glass, and broken glasses left around. Even the bathroom and living room paint was chipped. It’s a shame for such a large house, but it needs maintenance.

The owner welcomed us warmly and was available when we needed anything. The location in a residential neighborhood is ideal, very close to Cuenca, and the price is reasonable. The house is large, clean, nicely decorated, and well equipped. Its rooms and apartments have their own bathrooms for privacy, and it can be rented by the room or as a whole. There’s a pool and wood-burning barbecue in the garden. The suite has a big living room, fireplace, and spacious kitchen. We’d love to return.

My family and I had a great time here. The owner was very friendly and treated us wonderfully. There are lots of bedrooms, each with a bathroom, plus apartments in the house with extra amenities if you need more rooms. The living room is roomy, and there’s a shared toilet outside the bedrooms. It’s well equipped, with a spacious, well-kept garden, a summer pool, and a barbecue with a wood-fired oven and plenty of firewood. A great base for visiting Cuenca and the Serranía de Cuenca.

We all loved our summer stay as a family. The rooms were large and had en-suite bathrooms, and some had their own kitchens. It’s in a very quiet village close to Cuenca, and we’ll definitely return next year. There were lots of wasps around the pool and on the terrace overlooking it, and some people got stung. That’s hard to control outdoors, so next time we’ll bring repellent for the garden area.
