When we returned from Spain, my wife and I went back to Masia Mimosa because the owner had apologized for our first stay and promised us better accommodation on the way back. Unfortunately, it wasn’t much better. The rooms were dark and smelled slightly musty from old furniture, and the bathroom’s hygiene was far from ideal. What finally made us refuse the room was a dead mouse covered in flies right outside the accommodation door. My wife wondered if there might be more mice and wouldn’t stay. Jolyon, the owner, was very irritated by our decision. He said we should expect mice when renting in the open countryside. Maybe that would make sense if a live mouse ran along a wall unnoticed, but this was a fly-covered corpse right by the door. Make your own conclusions. On our way to Spain, we had booked a room by the pool. A few hours before we arrived, the owner called to say the bathroom drain wasn’t working and offered us a separate external toilet and washroom instead. There wasn’t much time to find another hotel, so we agreed. That was a mistake. The app photos showed the external facility, but it wasn’t hygienic, and there was no internet in the accommodation. The next day, we told the owner the stay hadn’t met an acceptable standard. His sincere apologies eased our dissatisfaction, and he assured us we’d get the best accommodation on our return.

The room was new and cozy, with an extremely comfortable bed, and the host was friendly and helpful. The hotel sits in a lovely mountain area, surrounded by greenery and a peaceful atmosphere. My trip was rushed, so I didn’t get much time to explore, but I’ll make a plan to come back.

We found a real gem in this cozy little town, with beautiful nature, mountains, and such peaceful quiet. The house is magical, with interesting decor, and the hosts were very friendly. The three sweet dogs were an extra delight. The peacocks in the yard were so shy I never got to see them spread their pretty feathers. That’s the only downside I can think of.

We added a couple of nights here on our way back to Sweden because we weren’t ready for our Spain holiday to end. The place is breathtaking, and the owners have brought this old, beautiful, historic house to life. You can feel how much they care about it, from the rooms to the lovely garden and amazing pool area. They have a real eye for interior design, and I noticed something new every day. I slept like a princess in a wonderfully comfortable bed, and our dog Milo made three new friends. We did think 15€ per night for Milo was a bit much, but we’ll definitely be back ❤️

The little sitting nooks around Masia Mimosa were a favorite, lovely places to read or sit quietly and think back over the day. We also enjoyed swimming in the pool and having coffee under the trees, and the peacocks wandering the grounds made everything feel magical. Their bright feathers added so much to the setting. We recently stayed at Masia Mimosa near Barcelona, and Julian and Lawrence welcomed us so warmly that we felt at home right away. The property’s interior is stunning, with beautiful porcelain, cutlery, and furniture. The mix of comfort, elegance, and natural beauty made the stay unforgettable. There was a spectacular private party, but the atmosphere also works for a quiet evening. Nearby hiking trails have breathtaking lake views and suit both experienced hikers and people after an easy stroll. You can finish with a swim in the lake and lunch at the lake restaurant. Between the engaging hosts, scenery, and charm of the place, we highly recommend it for a trip near Barcelona. Can’t wait to go back.
