MLL Mediterranean Bay Hotel - Adults Only

I really liked the bar, with its lovely view, friendly bartenders and tasty cocktails. The staff were great, especially the cleaning team, and Administrator Diana was very kind and always tried to help us. The hotel looks old, though some areas have been renovated. I didn’t try the pools or other activities. The rooms felt a bit odd because the toilet and shower cabin were separate, which was inconvenient for us. Breakfast was poor and the same every day, while dinner was nicer, especially the fish. Overall, the food was mediocre and repetitive. The area is crowded, not very clean and sometimes smells unpleasant. The sea is close, though, and walking straight down and turning left takes you to a pretty stretch with villas and a beach that isn’t too busy. There’s a supermarket nearby for good water and other essentials. The little corner shops have less choice and much higher prices. Beach loungers aren’t free, two with an umbrella cost €18.

We ate at the hotel one night, then went out for the rest of our stay because the food selection was poor and what we had was lukewarm and pretty bad. Our room was clean, but not great. The toilet was about a foot from the bed, with no proper door, so there was no real privacy. We’d booked this place for the rooftop bar and pool, which featured all over the booking photos, only to find they were closed. At reception, we were also told on arrival that the hotel was closing on the 19th and we’d have to move to another hotel on the last day of our visit. We asked if we could move there for the whole stay to avoid the hassle on our last full day, but staff said that wasn’t possible. I don’t usually complain, but this was a pretty bad experience. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend it, and if you do book, don’t go all-inclusive.

The breakfast buffet was very good, with a wide choice, and there was fresh fruit and vegetables every day. The staff were very, very friendly, and my room was very clean. Still, for a four-star hotel, my room felt like an insult. The toilet flush barely worked and was extremely loud, and the guests made this adults-only hotel noisy in general. My tiny “balcony” felt more like a basement. Standing outside, I could see other guests’ feet. The beds were on wheels, and the shower had a liquid soap dispenser instead of shower gel and shampoo. To me, the hotel would be fine at three stars, but it doesn’t deserve four.

The food was the best part of our five-day stay: it was delicious and had plenty of variety every day. Our room was comfortable overall, but it had no blankets. When we asked, we were told none were available, which was disappointing. The sea was a short walk away, though the photos made it look much closer. Finding a parking spot nearby was often difficult too. It was an okay stay, but comfort and amenities could be better.
