Puerta de Gredos

There are plenty of walking tracks and quiet spots to relax away from the city bustle. The buffet breakfast and three-course lunches and dinners offered lots of choices for different tastes, so it was hard to imagine leaving hungry. The hotel itself is beautiful, with friendly staff, spacious rooms and very comfortable beds. The nearest town is around a 25-minute walk away, though under five minutes by car, and that distance left us feeling a little isolated.

Lovely grounds, discreet service, and nice cats. A solid four-star place, though it’s starting to show its age a bit. Bike rental is very expensive, and the bikes aren’t in great shape.

The countryside walks and the village nearby made it easy to spend time relaxing. The setting was idyllic, around a 30-minute walk from a small village and three hours from Madrid. I was here for a Vaughan Town Volunteer stay, and it turned out to be a really special, memorable visit. The dining was a highlight. Breakfast had a big selection, and lunch and dinner were three-course meals with wine. The lower-level dining room opened onto an outdoor area and had a handy toilet nearby. There’s also a lift. My room was charming and spotless, with a large comfortable bed, plenty of storage, and a bathroom with a spa bath and bidet. The building was lovely, too, and the foyer had lots of couches and a bar. I can’t fault anything about my stay. I’d gladly return if I didn’t live so far away in Australia.

A very pleasant place to stay, tucked into lovely scenery. The hotel is comfortable and tastefully decorated, and the receptionists are polite. The waiting staff were especially accommodating, and some of the food was delicious, particularly breakfast. It would be great if the bathroom heaters worked, and tea-making facilities in the rooms would be a welcome addition. Still, I had a wonderful stay.
